Esperanza is a private, therapeutic school serving students with disabilities between the ages of 5 and 21. Our mission is to provide the instruction and services needed by students with disabilities to become as productive and independent as possible in school, family and community life. We are accredited by the North Central Association (NCA) and approved by the Illinois State Board of Education.
Esperanza School recognizes that each student has strengths, talents and interests that can be developed to achieve individually relevant goals for a meaningful adult life. We are committed to engaging students in a process leading toward the realization of their full potential. Several services and programs are implemented in the school to make this a reality for students with the following disabilities:
- Autism
- Mild, moderate and severe cognitive disabilities
- Emotional and behavioral disorders (as the primary disability)
- Traumatic brain injury
- Other health impairments
