Esperanza’s Parent Group meets in the evening on a monthly basis. School social workers and faculty are present at the monthly groups to lead the discussion and to answer any questions the parents have about their child’s education. Transportation is available.
Daytime meetings are also available around particular subjects of interest to the parents. For example, a parent group might meet once a week for three weeks to discuss a topic such as discipline, guardianship and social security benefits. Contact Sally Scheib, Director of Social Work for more information regarding parent group meetings at (312) 243-6097 x 29.
Other parent services include:
- Spanish/English translation related to their child’s educational needs
- Transitional assistance in finding and applying for adult services
Parents are always welcome at Esperanza. They may choose to observe classes, volunteer, and attend parent meetings. Parents wishing to observe a class must call Erika Arias, school office manager at (312) 243-6097 x 11 and arrange a time to do so. Parents can volunteer in the school by contacting the volunteer coordinator at (312) 243-6097 x 17.
